The viewer is witness to God's hand reaching down from the heavens to the Devil who is a lot smaller. This was done to show the discrepancy of power between those two. What God is going to do is up to the viewer to decide. I just created the movements of the Devil and God which are directed towards each other as if they were measuring their powers. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: I started off with creating the sky and the lava-lake and the different spires in the lake. I used a heightfield for that. The clouds on the sky are partly mixed with the blue and partly located on another sphere below the skysphere. Then I created the figures with Creature Creator and smoothed them out. Afterwards I textures them (a lot of work for God's hand). Then special f/x were added like the fire and the glow around God's hand (media). The sparkles around the hand were done with Chris Colefax' lens-flare plugin for Moray.
