This image is full of CONTRAST Light-Dark Color-Grays Simple-Complex Freedom-Slavery DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: This is my third entry. When I first learn of the subject for this round my first thought about contrast was Black and White literally, a White ball on a black screen. That would be way to simple and not worthy of this contest. But at the same time I couldn't get the image of that simple scene out of my head. So I though that a lone White marble statue might work. While I was playing with that idea, making some test renders, the test figure had an unique look that I liked. And when I place five of them you couldn't tell if they where coming toward you or going away. Still it needed somthing, that's when the idea of the movie screen came. SCENE : This scene was made in two POV files one for the screen image, and one for the main image. Also the Scene was made totally with POV (almost). The height field used an old gif that I made a while back. I think the gif was made when I was testing a program I wrote to write GIF's. This scene uses the standard colors that came with POV3.1g. Except some times I just made up my own when a thing needed somthing more complicated. Everything below not mark with a color use a handmade pigment. objects quick outline: Main room : robots, hidden plane, two lights, screen robots : 2 sphere & 2 cones colored White hidden plane: splits the scene in have so light from one side doesn't affect the other lights : placed where they light the outer side of the robots screen : box with an image map image map : (image in zip not objects) shy_sphere : hand made height_field : uses contras.gif distance hills: has over 1000 triangles water : box birds : 5 cones , 1 sphere colored White Zip-File: The zip contains everything ya need to reproduce the scene.(hopfully) I've just put the imgage for the screen in the zip. Just to keep the size down. Other wise I'd have to include the another POV file and the GIF use to make the height feild. It should have 3 files. lrshow.pov, lrshow.ini, confilm.tga Epilgue: To sum up I'd like to brag on the POV team. I know the work that goes into programing. And they have a first rate program. Most of all I like their philosophy of sharing it. They remined me of the olden day when I first started programing. Thank You POV! Feel free to E-mail me with any comments and or suggests.
