JPGFILE: nautilus.jpg ZIPFILE: nautilus.zip RENDERER USED: povray 3.1g TOOLS USED: Moray 3.2, Photoshop 4 used for gamma correction RENDER TIME: 30 min HARDWARE USED: Celeron 433, 128 MB IMAGE DESCRIPTION: contrast; creature of the deep sea versus men form the surface, giant octopus versus man-made submarine, animal versus maschine DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: All modeling was done with Moray 3.2. The tool was especially useful for handling complex, hierarchical structured objects. Highly recommended! My goal was to create a realistic submarine atmosphere. I used an interior media object - scattering type - as basis. A spotlight illuminates the submarine. The spotlight is modulated through a half transparent bozo pattern. The result looks like sun rays in the water.
