===== From : Two suggestions: Move the camera in closer so that the nice church takes up more of an otherwise sparse image and work on the roof texture. ===== From jhiggins@webone.com.au: Heh, this is a lot like my entry, I'm guessing alot of them are going to be similar. (we're gonna lose out on the originality! ) I like the atmosphere you've created with the darkness. ===== From batronyx@cadronhsa.com: Not bad at all for a quickie. Has a very serene quality to it. ===== From tony@awmcs.net: Actually this image has lots of potential. The landscape isn't too bad nor the sky. Your stained glass looks more like a tye-dye pattern then stained glass. It needs strong edges. Also you have no eaves on your roof. That would help immensely. ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: Some nice work here. I like the light coming down to illuminate the cross, but wonder if it would look better if it came into the scene from an angle, perhaps from just below the top border on the right-hand side? ===== From tom@tomandlu.co.uk: Nicely composed - I hope you find the time to sort out the problems ===== From gshaw@monotix.co.za: A few trees around the church would have added masivly to this pic. I like this. ===== From chris_hormann@gmx.de: Not bad for a one night's work of course, but some more tweaking of the details would have given a much better impression, for example modelling of the roof and texturing of the windows. ===== From youknow@ucan.foad.org: For a quick, first entry this is quite good. The gentle hills have a good texture. The stained glass in the windows are a bit odd, something to consider working on if you choose to improve and continue this image. The shape and wall textures of the church is good. ===== From albiaprime@aol.com: Artistic: Not bad for a rush job! Technical: Your roof could be improved by being a separate piece that is placed over the church structure. I am assuming that the church currently exists as a 'church-shaped' object with different textures applied to it. Concept: A place of worship; fits the topic. I like the shaft of light that is striking the end of the building. ===== From delfeld@mailcity.com: If you do not feel confident with the image enough to accept any criticism that may be thrown at it, then do not enter it. There is plenty of time in the future, other contests. . . Epistemology: The idea that god is singular, god is Christian, and that salvation is unquestioned in this image. Why are any of these things true (as well as a myriad of other theological problems)? Axiology: What is it I am supposed to consider worshipped? Why a light from god on this specific symbol? I can only guess that I am not supposed to like the darkness; but, in this image, the play of _both_ light and dark that is the best part, and the darkness is absolutely necessary! Ontology: Beingness is nonexistent, just the meaningless miracles of god (this is not what I believe; this is what the image says). ===== From file: Notable for modelling ===== From file: Notable for modelling
