This image has a lot of potential. Make the image a little bigger. I find
800x600 just about perfect. The textures should be a little more complex. I
really love the mood of the picture. It is tranquil yet ominous.

The concept of fortress is not necessarily contained by the image of a castle. 
What, then, is the idea of fortress in this image?

Try using individual textures for each building and surface.  With one texture,
it looks like a minature, as if it was carved out of a small stone.
