===== From kingofmycastle@gmx.net: Nice try. ===== From tony@awmcs.net: Blobs work much better for doing human figures. ===== From youknow@ucan.foad.org: A nice idea. I am wondering if the cartoon-like effect is deliberate. I suspect, given certain touches, it was not. With the structures as they stand it would've been effective if the whole image had meant to take on a sort of Saturday cartoon feel. As a realistic image, it suffers in places -- the kid, as you yourself point out, yes, but also the structure of the fort (too smooth and regular). ===== From delfeld@mailcity.com: We still have winter here. We also have some peace here, and I am wondering whether it is not better to have a virtual war than real blood, even in 'harmless' children's play. I do not find anything glorious about war, and it is apparent that you do not have a real concept of the snowfight's epiphany. Be careful that your myth of war is not taken for the real thing, where people (including you) end up dead quite easily for the smallest reasons. However, I still am fairly uncertain what the relation is to 'fortress'. A snow fort does not necessarily contain the idea of 'fortress'. The image is too one-sided to incorporate the concept. Nice work with the objects, and I think that you do a very good job with people. Regardless of the simplicity, I think the boy is very emotive and understanable, especially with touches like his breath and the eyes.
