The scale on your image seems a little off IMO. It looks like a minature plane
flying over a room sized base with minature guns shooting at it. I think if you
create smaller more frequent 'force beams' across the gate that would help. I
really like your explosions though.

It looks like you have the Pyrocluster volumetric effects 
plugin.  The explosions are nice, but that is all we seem 
to have here.  Try to work more on your modeling and 
texturing skills.

Wow!  Really exciting.  I have no idea what they are fighting for, but it must
be something important.  However, I do have to mention that this is a good
representation of the theme 'fortress', since the limited terms of actual
battle indicate the dialectic between internal force and external fairly well,
and a reason for the struggle is unimportant.
