===== From kingofmycastle@gmx.net: I think, that it looks a bit unfinished ===== From htkra1d@hotmail.com: Well, we can clearly see that the sea is a heightfield, as we can see where it ends ... a real sea would have continued in eternety (at least almost). The same with the sky, it doesnt 'meld' with the horizon. As for the main sattelite dish (or whatever it is) the texture is not the best I would've chosen. Plus the ball and the cylinders (if thats what they are) are a bit wrongly placed. Artisticly, and overall good image. ===== From tony@awmcs.net: You image is a nice interpretation and had good attention to detail. The fortress looks like it was cut out of a slab of ice (could be intentional) the biggest flaws are that the radar dishes need to be more metallic looking and that your water though a good texture stops abruptly. A techniqe to try would be to create a huge rectangle then cut out a square and replace it with the heightfield. ===== From extrememarinerfan@home.com: I don't like the background very much but the attention to detail on the fortress is exceptional! ===== From PovRayGuy@aol.com: Interesting. Looks like it was scalled up from a lower resolution. ===== From jaimevives@mixmail.com: Your modelling is not bad, but you need to work more the textures, IMHO. ===== From a.vandekraats@student.utwente.nl: I like the amount of detail in this picture. What I don't like is the horizon. Because you used a heightfield for the sea (which isn't infinite large), the sea looks like a box. I would use a plane with a nice water texture. For a sharper picture, I think it's better to render the final image at the desired resolution, instead of resizing it. ===== From ZenPsycho@yahoo.com: the modeling is interesting, but the textures could use work. I don't understand what's going on with the sattalite dish's texture... is it supposed to have ice encrusted on it or something? ===== From delfeld@mailcity.com: (Please see the 'additional' comments, as I do not have the time left to write individual ones.)
