JPGFILE: nerdmind.jpg ZIPFILE: nerdmind.zip RENDERER USED: POVray 3.1 TOOLS USED: Moray 3.01 and POVray's internal editor RENDER TIME: 5m 29s HARDWARE USED: Intel Celeron 450Mhz IMAGE DESCRIPTION: This image is based on my own experience of life in general. I spend a lot of my time (too much), thinking about, drawing and creating virtual worlds on computers. It becomes easy to surround yourself with your thoughts, they become your life and your surrounding, forming an impenetrable fortress between you and the 'real world'. The unique thing about this type of fortress is that it is totally invisible; People on the outside can look straight at it, even try to get into it, without knowing it exists. Even the person on the inside can sometimes be so involved in creating the fortress that even they don't know it exists. The worrying thing for me is that I am only 16 and cannot remember when I started to create the parts of this huge, dynamic world that I find myself in. From my on experience, however this variety of fortress is not entirely impenetrable, there is one thing that can break in: God. (AKA. Father God, Jesus, Holy Sprit) DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: For most of the scene I used Moray v3.01. It is entrely constructed from CSGs of cylinders, boxes, spheres and torii; except for a couple of bits of the person (Bezier patches) and the toes of the yellow robot (Prisms). To create the media effects (the gun blast), I used POVray's internal text editor. The zip contains the Moray *.mdl file. If anyone has advice on modelling people, or on creating media effects in Moray, it would be most appreciated.
