try playing with Max 4's multi-pass motion blur (not sure if you used that or
not), and turn down the sample size a bit.. I think an gentle blur would appear
more "real" than seeing the same wing blurred over and over

Nice concept and excellent textures... although I must admit I had to read your
description to figure out what was happening.... for me, the image needs to
tell the message... perhaps a slight change of positioning or something might
have helped the concept.
