This is a red bug.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: 

I spent a lot of time attempting to perfect torsional degree patches and
polygonal output vectors.  The results, I think, speak for themselves.

I also spent a lot of time getting the lighting *just so* and tweaking the
textures involved.

I began working on this piece as soon as the topic was announced, and spent
probably 25-30 hours a week up until the last day, which was final render day. 
I wish I could have taken another month or so to clean up some minor issues
with the piece, but overall I'm pretty happy with the final result.
