===== From bonsalva@bellsouth.net: I recognized the scene before I read the description. Great work! ===== From elias@users.sourceforge.net: This looks good. I think it's somewhat empty to be a really great scene. I especially like the water (yes, I read, someone else made the code for it, but well, someone else wrote PovRay..). The blue fire looks a bit odd, but I think you can always argue it's a dragon who spits that sort of fire :) Maybe the front texture of the wood could need some works as well, abd maybe put some dirt or plants on the walkway. The burning houses looks artificial somehow. ===== From zebu@pingou.linux-site.net: hmmm... so almost everything is other people's work? ===== From delfeld@mailcity.com: Tolkien is not the limit of fantasy. The thematic interpretation could use some work. It is hard to develop a good composition with only a few points of interest in the image. The depth is displayed well, but the focus is central, and not on anything that seems significant, or visually interesting. The use of contrasts is nice, but not visually significant. ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: The sky and water look pretty good here, and the scene overall is nice. I think it might work better to move in closer to the dragon and archer, so the action dominates the scene more. As it is, I think the large areas of empty space in the scene take away from the concept. ===== From file: You got it right!. I saw the image before reading your description and the first thought was "hey there is Bard fighting Smaug in long lake". Pity the textures, the city models and background could be better. The dragon mountain in the background would be a nice point (it could be seen from the city).
