===== From edward_dixon2001@yahoo.com: I love the image. The only significant improvement I could suggest would be better textures. ===== From klynn@qwest.net: I'm glad you explained George's name --I though it was odd that a dragon would be named after Saint George, The Dragon Slayer! ;-) ===== From dooby@breathemail.net: There's loads going on - lots to look at. I like the idea of George ===== From kantell@qup.com: This made me laugh out loud. I love George's expression! ===== From elias@users.sourceforge.net: Another stunning image. Artistic Merit: I give it 18/20, because to me personally it is not artistically perfect. I very like the overall composition, the castle, and the crowded look of the street, boats and harbour. But at some places it looks somewhat artifical and clean (green wagon back, bridge - not a single plant of any kind survived the cleaning, boat decks, to name some). Then there's the transition from the castle wall to the houses roofs, which looks somewhat odd to me. And to me, the fog/mountains look a bit out of place, I can't exactly say why - making everything look in place is just what I understand as artistic merit though. Technical Merit: I'm not in the position to judge how much "technical skill" is needed/used for any of the entries, so I also take into account how much work obviously was put into a scene. I give this one 19/20 points, because, comparing to how much work it was for me to put in even a few objects, it sure earns all the points there would be to give. And I put one point off in account of all the technical glitches/missing features there are. Most notably, there's nothing which doesn't make this picture look rendered. (Maybe try radiosity?) And what is that object at the side of the girl's dress? Concept, originality, interpretation of theme: 20/20. Impressed by a fantasy castle and a dragon? Hm, not really. But what do I say about George, with this fantastic palace as background? Wow! ===== From Rob_E@godmaterial.com: Really good castle, but the background terrain may need a little work ===== From tony@awmcs.net: 39 Images in and this is the best one yet! Great concept! Your skills are most impressive. (Where is the yellow hatted guy?) ===== From fmurr@free.fr: The sky is the only thing that does'nt reach the quality of the rest of your work. ===== From lrwii@joplin.com: Great work! ===== From delfeld@mailcity.com: Very extensive image, with a lot of ideas and work. Note how the boats have a high value and hue contrast with the water, while things on the bridge lack these; it is hard to tell that the focus should be on the dragon on the bridge - maybe the dragon should have been blue (to keep with the color scheme and to draw attetion). Composition is nice, but realism is not the only art form. Castles never even occurred to me when I was thinking about fantasy; 'mystic genre' is not about dragons. If you are driven to justify your work in social terms, that is ok, but note that your changes to the genre are what make the theme interesting to look at. ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: Excellent job of conveying a sense of hugeness and wonder here. Good use of simple objects to create an extremely complex, detailed scene. Would have preferred a different texture on the mountains, but that's such a small thing. Very impressed by this scene. ===== From davidbridge@msn.com: Great image - I love 'busy' images; you can find something new with each viewing ===== From file: Yeah, that_s it. Big castles, ships, medieval like port... and a great dragon.
