TITLE: Giant Crystal BallJPGFILE: lbgcb.jpg NAME: Larry Boston COUNTRY: United States EMAIL: elboston@mint.net WEBPAGE: None RENDER USED: MegaPOV 0.7 TOPIC: FANTASY AND MYSTIC COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION JPGFILE: lbgcb.jpg TOOLS USED: Corel Painter 6,Bryce 4 ,POSER 4,Crossroads,OBJuvPOV RENDER TIME: 2 Hr HARDWARE USED: Pentium III 733, 128 RAM IMAGE DESCRIPTION: The scene is kept basic as it was originally imagined in my head. I looked at at several complex dragon scenes and decided and decided that I would have to keep mine very basic in order to complete the scene on time. I originally was going to place a crystal unicorn on the inner ball, but I didn't have time to try this approach. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: I didn't jump right on this topic so I started about one month after the topic was announced. The dragons took so long to construct that I was pushed to make the deadline and couldn't make many variations on my original idea. The dragons were created entirely in POV. The body is a series of tori. The dolphins on crystalball holder and the female warriors were converted from POSER 4 to POV using OBJuvPOV. The terrain was converted from Bryce to POV using crossroads. The unicorn on the crystal ball was made by converting a horse from POSER and adding a horn and creating a TGA file that was used an image map on a sphere. I don't have much experience with POSER so I had difficulty moving the arms into position for the archer. I declared the individual body parts of the converted file and repositioned them in POV. I just recently found the conversion files so I was pushed to the limit to complete this round. I used Painter 6 to create the TGA files for textures and to created the JPG file. I didn't include a zip file because some of the include files are large.
