JPGFILE: jflvict.jpg ZIPFILE: jflvict.zip RENDERER USED: MegaPOV .6 TOOLS USED: sPatch, PhotoPaint RENDER TIME: 20 min. HARDWARE USED: Pentium 600MHz. 64MB IMAGE DESCRIPTION: April 20th , 1918 - WW I - Manfred von Richthofen, better known as the Red Baron, is flying his all-red Fokker triplane. 2nd/Lt. David G. Lewis makes desperate efforts to lose his persecutor, but when the Red Baron is on your tail there is nothing you can do. That was Richthofen's eigthieth and final victory. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Unfortunetaly I ran out of time to finish this scene. (And I ran out of skills and patience, also). Basically, the Fokker triplane was made in sPatch, except for the machine guns and propeller that were made in POV-Ray. I used some pictures and sketches found on internet, but I don't have the addresses. The Sopwith Camel is 100% POV CSG. PhotoPaint was used for the symbols on the planes, and for the signature. The landscape is a huge isosurface. I don't quiet get how isos work, so this one is just a modified version of the one Alberto Mendoza used for water in his scene, on the 'Sea' Round. The texture on the landscape is were i need to work more, it is too plain right now, but i don't have time to improve it. Look at beatiful clear sky!!! I've tried using planes for the clouds, and tried with media but I couldn't get them to work. The sPatch file for the fokker is not included in the source file. Mail me if you'd like to see it.
