HARDWARE USED: AMD Duron 800MHz, 256 MB Ram IMAGE DESCRIPTION: The soldier has lost all hope for his survival, overwhelmed by enemy forces from the ground and air. It's all too much seeing his long deceased comrades, he starts to cry. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The terrain was created in Max using displacement and bump maps. The terrain texture is a mixture of pictures of the ground and procedural textures. The head, helmet, robot and flyers were modeled in Rhino 2.0 demo (a NURBS modeler for those who don't know). The texture for the helmet is procedural and the textures for the head, robot and flyer are modified textures included with Max. I found the skeleton on the Internet long ago (I can't remember who made it, so I won't know who to give credit to.) The explosions were made using combustion/fire effect in Max and I used the Video Post Glow Effect to create a glowing effect on bright areas of the image. I also used volume lights for the flyer's searchlights.
