I have since animated this scene for another competition. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The maps used were scanned from my own models/warhammer game. The very background was a still image that I mapped to a flat plain. It took a little time to get the illusion of light comming in from that window then adding a 50 light 'skylight rig' to achieve an even interior ambient lighting effect. The hand took a long while to texture and to save time was only mapped on the palm side and a procedural texuture build to disguise the map edges. The real hassle I had was trying to achieve the 'plastic' look of the minatures as the ambient light rig removed all specularity. Some tilting and rotating was required to make use of the strong light comming in from the window to achieve the look. I didn't include a Zip because the source files total 50mb. I have made many individual components publicly available via http://www.animationpitstop.com Hey - I'm no expert and there were a lot of 'happy accidents' in this one.
