TITLE: Hindu Temple Interior NAME: Raymond A. Salvatore COUNTRY: USA EMAIL: bonsalva@bellsouth.net TOPIC: Asia COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. JPGFILE: rasindia.jpg RENDERER USED: Raydream Studio 5.5 raytracer TOOLS USED: Raydream Studio 5.5 and Micrografix Picture Publisher RENDER TIME: 20 minutes HARDWARE USED: PENTIUM III 128 MEG RAM - HP PAVILION AND HP CAMERA IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Combined images of Indian Hindu temples in general. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Except for the flowers, base of the statue of Shiva, candle, basket and bracelets- everything was made in Raydream's supermesh creator. I found various pictures on the internet, downloaded the best ones, not necessarily from the same temple. I used Picture Publisher to crop the image to the one item I needed, then converted the picture to greyscale. I used the grayscale picture as a height field by pushing and painting the greys so that they only represented height from the paper. Once the height field was ready I used supermesh to create a 3d object, used CSG to cut that object from the flat background and used another copy of the original picture as a texture. This copy had to have no shadows so I used a copy tool to fill in the shadow areas. I also used this picture as a bumpmap to add detail. I hope you enjoy it and hope that I did not offend anyone by combining images from various temples. Also I owe a great deal to the following site for having so many great images available-http://shishir.home.mindspring.com/sculpindex.html
