I a novice ( 6 month ) , i think that a teapot is a good idea to illustrate the Spirit of Asia... Thanks to Chourak for help me lightning the scene !!! (eu.underndet.org channel #3dfr) DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: I use SubSurf to create the teapot in two Objects. Gimp to paint a chinese letter and do a montage for the mapping picture on Ying Yang. The reflecting mapping is done by an EnvMap with a Empty Object. The 9 Lights are use to illuminate the picture and emulate the radiosity. 2 lights are use to illuminate only the teapot and don't illmunate the ground.... then 3 lights are in the rear to attenuate the black shadows and 1 Spot light to illuminate the theapot on front... 1 Emit light on up to get a speculare and 2 light ( 1 red , 1 blue) to have a effect on the teapot... All this light to emulate the radiosity... The texture i use for bump is done by Gimp , the chinese letter is add by alpha mapping ( UVMAP)... Excuse my french ... :o)
