===== From tom@tomandlu.co.uk: Modelling and textures need work. ===== From jjaguar@worldnet.att.net: Not bad for a first attempt, I like the highlights from the photons. As you speculate, a lathe object would probably be the best way to make a bottle. ===== From p_chan@shaw.ca: I like the effect that the photons produced on the bottle. If CSG merge is giving you problems, you might want to try "manually" merging the objects by cutting out internal surfaces out of individual objects before merging them. I don't know how efficient this would be in terms of render time though. ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: Some nice work here, especially for a first entry. The bottle's shape looks good (although it would be fairly easy to reproduce it using a lathe object instead, once a few hours have been spent playing around with them to get the hang of them.) I like the texture on the background a lot. I've never used photons myself, and suspect they are rather tricky... these look a little overbright. The four distinct shadows are rather bothersome... using area lights should help, athough they would increase the render time significantly. ('Cheating' by making some of the light sources shadowless would be a faster alternative.) Overall, an interesting image which shows a lot of potential. Looking forward to seeing more work by the artist.
