===== From tek@evilsuperbrain.com: The black spots on your snow flakes are because you don't have "hollow on" in your mesh object. This means that no fog is applied between the snowflake and the trees behind it, so you get dark spots instead of grey. I had exactly the same error while developing my entry! :) BTW, this is very good for a first entry. ===== From the_dark_allies@hotmail.com: I like the way you also put the snow on flat tops such as the roofs and fence. Perhaps adding some on the window-sills would also add in some realism. The pine tree in front helps add to the scene, though the ones in the background appear too similar to each other, why are not some bunched up, or fallen over, etc? Adding smoke was a good idea, however at first I mistook it for being part of the landscape, it certainly could use some more tweaking. The logs and wood textures also could go for some tweaking, but this is a nice image all around. ===== From pokorny@attglobal.net: The house looks right for an alpine location. ===== From tom@tomandlu.co.uk: Good image - has a real sense of place. Smoke needs work? ===== From lrwii@joplin.com: Like the texture on the wall. Why not use a solid white pigment for the snowflakes? That would take care of those black spots on the pines. ===== From file: Pretty good image, but a little too rigid. ===== From file: it would have been better if the textures were more interesting.
