I am retiring in August of this year and haven't saved much money therefore this picture will have to do for our log cabin home. I probably won't be sitting in the rocking chair in mid winter, but I can stand fairly cold weather. I won't be moving to Florida or any south sea island. The barbed wire fence is a reminder of the times I have either run into them or I have had to climb over them. Hopefully the ones I run into in the future won't have barbs like the ones I have depicted. None of the objects show aging. This is because I'm sure I would be asked to fix them if they showed any rust. I will have enough to fix up on our current house once I retire. There are no power lines leading to the house, but I would find a way to make POV pictures even if I didn't have a power source. There must be a street light near however, since there is light coming from in front of the cabin. Yes,I know I left my lights on, but triple A will come to my rescue. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The cabin, tractor, and truck etc. were made by CSG. The snow texture and the birch bark were created from digital photographs taken on my property. The birch tree was created using Gilles Tran's tree macro with the snow added by raising the tree slightly and using the snow texture on the raised tree. Each part of the fir trees weres hand coded in so that I could have better control over the branches. I plan to work on fir trees to make them more realistic. The snow on the fir trees was made by using a color map, because when I attempted to raise the tree as I did with the birch the the Beta version of POV gave up and when I tried version 3.1 I stopped the rendering after it had parsed for quite a long time. The fir trees in back are image maps of different versions of fir trees created in seperate POV files to reduce rendering time in the final image. The chimny was created as two prisms with one slightly larger in one direction so that the texture could be applied in different directions. The texture was created using the flat portion of Gilles Tran's wall macro using spheres in place of the superellipsoids. I didn't include a zip file because it would be quite large and some the objects aren't quite complete. Once I complete the objects I may send them to the site that has a collection of POV objects.
