The atmosphere there was so nice and so peaceful that I was feeling like living a dream. This is probably why I decided to make this dream-like picture in April 2000, on month before going back to France. The idea of this picture came progressively as long as I was testing the new functionalities of MegaPov. However, suddenly, while I was waking up in a morning of the end of March 2000, I "saw" this picture in a brief thought. I immediatly decided to "draw" it with POV. I took me one month. This man is leaving the real world to go in his dreams, to find his deep self. It may sound weird, but it really is what I wanted to suggest in this image. However, what I really appreciate about this picture is the smooth, soft and peaceful feeling it gives me when I look at it. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: At first, I modeled the man with Poser 4 (Then I converted it in .3ds and then in POV format. with utilities found on the web). The rest of the scene was constructed with POV in pure script. I don't really like to use graphical editors for POV because I don't want to lose the power of POV mathematical primitives (not made of triangles) that can't be found in professional graphical CAD products. This scene uses CSG VERY extensively, multiple attenuated soft lights, and atmosphere. The enlightment gave me a lot work until I found the good combinations of colors and placements in order to give this very soft and peaceful feeling.
