===== From jaime@ignorancia.org: Wow! Nice image! ...but I had to heavily adjust gamma, and don't think my system is that badly calibrated... hmmm. ===== From maarten_hofman@hotmail.com: This is a good entry, with the right concept/interpretation, a well thought of implementation and a balanced and integrated set of objects. ===== From houston_roadrunner@yahoo.com: Very good image. I do find the foreground apple seems out-a-place, the texture on the knife needs work... ===== From : Very good image. The wood textures could use some improvement, however the texturing on the fruit is very excellent and realistic. One thing you may want to clean up howerver are the artifacts on the first 4 fruit. They appear to be square shapes you often get from not enough shadow buffering, etc. ===== From rgow@calweb.com: Nice lighting and texturing! ===== From awilcox@dreampeach.com: Good modeling. I like the basket a lot. I think the wood grain on the table is a little big. ===== From poss_98@juno.com: great concept! I didn't like the shadowing artifacts on the fruit though. Possibly a better polygon/nurb count could help? ===== From beighton155@yahoo.com: A very nice idea, i really like this image but i am very scared by the spring loaded grinder machine!what is that!! ===== From novotek@web.de: this is funny ! finally something different - :) good work ! but: what happend to the shadows on the apples in the foreground ? ===== From jpgargoyle@sapo.pt: I like the picture, but i think it is slightly off-topic (just as my own entry :P) There are some "jagged shadows" in some apples wich result from the meshes used (a known problem), but the overall result is very pleasing :) Best regards. ===== From dapigg2000@yahoo.com: Great idea, widely accepted. ===== From emediez@emediez.com: Great lesson, awesome! It's loneliness, anyway. ===== From wozzeck@club-internet.fr: Nice work Glenn. Radiosity is a bit strong imvho, making the frontmost apple too bright. ===== From suso@suso.org: This image reminds me so much of the image I did for this same competition (sbcherry). The colors of the fruits are even pretty much the same. I think you did a really great job on the basket and the fruit. I place this one in the top 5 at least. Congratulations! ===== From rclee@oklahoma.net: Good textures. The table looks a little too clean. ===== From jrcsurvey@aol.com: A nice use of humor to interpret the topic. Excellent technical realization= of the topic. The high dynamic range along with the apples gives an autumn= air. ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: Wondeful sharpness and clarity, excellent lighting ===== From p_chan@shaw.ca: Excellent level of detail in the scene. I see you're willing to go to great lengths to get realistic textures. :) One improvement which would make it look more like a workbench would be to add some scratches to the wood. After all, if one can find the knife in the position it's in, whoever works here obviously isn't concerned about keeping the wood in good condition. ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: Nice... the lighting really brings the scene to life here. The apples look good, athough the textutes seem a bit plastic. The random shades of color on the bricks works well. ===== From clem@dhol.org: Good image, but I don't see the apples "huddling". When you want the viewers to think anthropomorphically, you need a bit more in the way of cues to nudge them in that direction. I find the fruit skins oddly lacking in detail. Perhaps the high dynamic range thing should be reconsidered. The whole image has a washed out feel and details suffer.
