===== From tek@evilsuperbrain.com: Great first attempt. What is it this month with first-timers submitting great images?! :) I like it. Definite room for improvement but certainly not a bad picture. ===== From maarten_hofman@hotmail.com: The fog and light work well in this picture. The sky is a bit empty, though. ===== From darwallace@earthlink.net: The foggy background suggests a sandstorm, but no dust devils. ===== From : I did not clue in to the fact the markings in the front were foot-steps. Perhaps it was just me, but reading your story I understand now. The fog could perhaps use some more tweaking. It somehow looks too artificial. The mech is done quite well for someone new to povray. Keep up the good work and you'll be a top contender in no time. ===== From awilcox@dreampeach.com: I watched you progress on this image on the newsgroups. ===== From ruy@hipernet.com.br: This doesn't seem to be a fair depiction of the topic "Loneliness". ===== From dapigg2000@yahoo.com: "Excuse me, I'm not from around here... which way to a city?" Good job, 500% topic. Good artisanship too. ===== From cfusner@enter.net: A higher camera angle would enable us to see more of the footprints. Most significant would be the tracks behind the mech, so that the viewer can see they are identical to the ones just located. This would convey better what is happening even before reading it in the text file. The idea is a good one. Being both lost and cut off does work together well to enchance the idea of solitude. ===== From rclee@oklahoma.net: Great modeling. More background may help. ===== From glenn@mccarters.net: Good work, but it looks more like a "mech in a landscape" image than a = "mech who is discovering his own footsteps" image to me, so the extent = of the lonliness doesn't register. The dull atmosphere is quite good. That and the 16:9 ratio do indeed = convey vast desolation. A good artistic first IRTC entry. Hope to see many more from you. ===== From p_chan@shaw.ca: The level of detail you have put into the modelling of the mech is admirable. I agree with you on the fact that the aspect ratio used for the scene creates a greater sense of loneliness. One thing I feel could improved the scene would be to have a smoother transition in the footprints indent to give the sense of blowing sands, and also to use ground fog with the same idea in mind. ===== From patrick@sypa.net: Great first entry, but should have made it clear that the mech is damaged ... At the first look I tought the mach was tracking an other one. ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: Not bad, especially given the experience level of the artist. The mech looks good for a CSG construct. ===== From clem@dhol.org: Just a warbot pic. Off topic.
