===== From tek@evilsuperbrain.com: There's something rather surreal about a CG person watching real people on TV :) Excellent lighting, and a nice atmosphere. ===== From awebb@trans-tec.co.uk: The blobs of water on the windows don't quite look right but otherwise a fantastic image. ===== From jaime@ignorancia.org: Very nice image. I only miss some detail on the wall. The exterior city looks very nice and real with the touch of blur and the drops on the windows glass. I'm not sure if the TV actually emits light, but it's not noticeable and it will be a great detail. The composition is very good, and the lighting too. It's one of these images that you can work almost 2 months more, adding nice details, because the scene really seems to suggest them (I'm thinking on a lot right now, but I know this is not a WIP). ===== From henry@unforgettable.com: i really like the rain on the windows, but my feeling is that the droplets are very large! v nice image. ===== From maarten_hofman@hotmail.com: Overall a good picture, well executed. ===== From cherii@att.net: This is really good, and clearly expresses the theme of loneliness. Would it have been possible to have stretched the raindrops so that they look more like they're running down the window pane? ===== From houston_roadrunner@yahoo.com: Great over all. Not much to pole a hole in. I would have like to have seen his face a little more. ===== From : I like the attention to detail in this one. However the rain drops do not seem right. I am not an expert, but perhaps they should be streaking downwards more due to gravity? Nice Job. ===== From MarkNitschke@gmx.de: well done. good idea / interpretation. ===== From awilcox@dreampeach.com: Very nice. The tv image looks very real. The only things that seem amiss to me are the bottles, and the white lamp base. Very good moulding on the windows. ===== From beighton155@yahoo.com: A very pretty picture which encapsulates the theme well. The only two things I cant understand is why the tv appears to be inside a black box on the left hand side, and why the right side of the tv is in shadow, yet there is a light right next to it? ===== From novotek@web.de: very nice technics used here: perfect drops, shadows and athmosphere. ===== From jpgargoyle@sapo.pt: Yes, that man is lonely. But I only got that feeling after I read the description file. Somehow, just looking at the pic I can't get that feeling, but with the description it's different. :) I just think the man doesn't look that old. Mabe he should have gray hair or something. But its a good entry. Best regards. ===== From p.olice@free.fr: Excellent modelling, texturing and lighting. You even managed to make the Poser model not too poser-ish! On the downside, I could not get "interested" into the image. ===== From dapigg2000@yahoo.com: VERY good, well made image. ===== From cfusner@enter.net: The texturing worked out very well. The only thing this is missing is some condensation rings on the table from the beer bottles (shame on the fellow for not using a coaster. What would his wife have said? :-) ) ... You've managed to give the old fellow his own little lonely microcosm here, and it works very well. ===== From tim.nikias@gmx.de: Good modelling, nice idea. Good lighting too. ===== From suso@suso.org: I think that the table is textured well and that the light coming from the lamp and TV are realistic. The man looks like he is made out of clay though. Also, the front of the TV looks kinda strange from this angle. ===== From rclee@oklahoma.net: Nice texture on the table. Hair on man is not quite right. ===== From jrcsurvey@aol.com: Good interpretation of topic. I enjoy the humanism of the scene. ===== From glenn@mccarters.net: I really like the soft lighting in most of the scene, but radiosity = would really help areas like the back of the shirt, radiator area, and = under the table. Good technique on the city focal blur. The TV, bills, = lamp, and remote are excellent models. I like the window molding, with = the multiple profiles and radiused edges. Forgot window locks, didn't = you? Raindrops are much too big. The man looks stiff and claylike, and = his shirt looks like dough draped over him. He also looks to be in good = health -- either fatter or thinner would be better. The bottles have an = odd radioactive glow. Excellent subtle sheen on the wood tabletop. = Looks like a winner to me! ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: Wow, very well put together scene... solid concept evocative of loneliness, lots of great detail and realism, good composition ===== From jamesrskemp@eml.cc: Want to have some comment or another... how about having the TV radiate light, instead of a lamp? I often drive past windows that have the distinct 'TV light' coming out of their windows... ===== From p_chan@shaw.ca: Excellent detail in the scene. The only thing that's missing is a power cord for the lamp (the TV doesn't really need one, since I can believe that that one is completely hidden behind the TV). The raindrops are very nice, but the background visible through the window doesn't really give the sense of it raining (and I feel there are too many drops on the window for it to have finished raining.) A darker, greyer sky, and possibly some thin cylinders for falling raindrops would do the trick. Another cool effect to add could be a raindrop hitting the window. ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: Very effective use of lighting here. The wood tabletop has a nice burnished look to it. The raindrops seem a bit over-defined to me (especially when looking at the left bottom side of the righthand window). Very nice scene overall, though, and a good interpretation of the topic. ===== From jl@artcom-gmbh.de: Very good modeling, only the raindrops look a bit strange. Why does the Wheelchair have German text on it? :) ===== From clem@dhol.org: Evocative. Good rain. The skin is too plastic. If that had been a Tiger game, the window would be broken and the chair empty.
