===== From tek@evilsuperbrain.com: Nice concept, though the modelling and lighting is rather basic. ===== From maarten_hofman@hotmail.com: I like the graphics, and many of the elements are quite good and work well together. I am just afraid that it doesn't cover the topic exactly, as the dolphin is clearly there. ===== From ojamies@cs.helsinki.fi: The ship in the mist is great detail. ===== From darwallace@earthlink.net: Very nice... the boat still seems a bit too clean for being wrecked ===== From : I like this image but the sinking boat has been causing me some confusion. Did one of the masts break off but still remains vertical? It almost looks like some kind of house on a dock in the back rather than a ship. Also the other passing ship in the background tends to remove some of the loneliness. But good concept, and I like the grey overcast. ===== From dapigg2000@yahoo.com: Another ship pic. Not bad. The poop deck isn't the right shape and the mizzoen mast isn't tall enough, masts altogther aren't proportional. Good ideas, and a happy dolphin. How could you go wrong? It reminds me a bit of the one called `the sinking' except, there's some miscellanious stuff in the scene. ===== From j.e.cousineau@lycos.com: ===== From rclee@oklahoma.net: The broken up ship could use more work. Loved the dolphin. Good water. ===== From jrcsurvey@aol.com: The pose of the figure indicates dejection or perhaps loneliness. ===== From glenn@mccarters.net: One of the difficulties in creating an image like this is the lighting. = With such a turbulent overcast sky, the lighting should be very bland = and uniform, but this would create a dull and flat image. Or you can = use some nearby light sources to cast some shadows, but what would cast = this light in the real world? ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: More contrast in color between the rock and the sea may have improved this. Also, the ship has a blocky look to it. Yeah, Perl! ===== From p_chan@shaw.ca: While photorealism was not your initial intention, I feel that the final product lends itself towards photorealism more than the surreal. I feel the background of the image and the immediated foreground of the image work they way they are, but that the shipwreck need a more realistic wood texture. The torn sail on the ship looks excellent though. I also like the use of fog in the scene to almost totally obscure the ship in the background. ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: Nice work on the rock and the figure... the water looks good too. The ship looks a bit simplistic, although the rigging is nice. The scene overall has a nice feel to it... good interpretation of the topic. ===== From jl@artcom-gmbh.de: The steamship is maybe a bit too hidden for the viewer, too. :) ===== From clem@dhol.org: Bit dark. Could use more detail. I have trouble telling what is going on with the ship.
