===== From tek@evilsuperbrain.com: Good work for a beginner. It has a good overall feel and the fogging is excellent. A few improvements I'd suggest would be: make the missing chunks less square maybe using isosurfaces, and generally more detail in the scene. But the idea and overall effect is great. ===== From henry@unforgettable.com: very impressive for a first piece! the one thing I will say is that everything is v neatly arranged: the chips are a little geometric, etc. Time to work on adding random factors in (that's when it gets really complicated!). ===== From maarten_hofman@hotmail.com: Three tombstones don't really seem lonely, but the desert (with its nice ripples) makes up for it. ===== From darwallace@earthlink.net: Partially scattered stone cairns and crooked wooden crosses work, too. ===== From : The image lacks contrast. But for your relatively first image you are coming along well. Keep up the good work. ===== From ruy@hipernet.com.br: Good effort. Keep at it and you'll improve pretty fast. I encourage you to try some modeling tools, such as hamaPatch as well. ===== From dapigg2000@yahoo.com: I think you should have spaced them apart a bit more. ===== From daffy-duck@worldnet.att.net: Good job, keep practicing. ===== From tim.nikias@gmx.de: Adding some more turbulence to the dust would have helped, I guess. A popular idea, but overall nicely done. ===== From suso@suso.org: Making the sand a bit wavier might have helped at least give some more contrast to the image. Everything seems flat. Good try though. ===== From rclee@oklahoma.net: Good sand in the foreground. Could have used more elements in the background to make it more interesting. Good first effort. ===== From glenn@mccarters.net: Fine work for a beginner. Keep it up. ===== From p_chan@shaw.ca: Nice work, especially considering it's your first image. The fog/dust looks very good, except for the fact that it seems to end rather abruptly near the top of the gravestones (noticable against the dark parts of the left and middle stones). The fallen pieces are a nice touch, but I would recommend making them more jagged by either using an isosurface or by placing CSG boxes in a while loop with random sizes and positions to create a more complex cut-out object. ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: Nice sky, and the desert landscape doesn't look bad for a beginner. Tombstones look a bit too boxy, though. ===== From clem@dhol.org: Doesn't work. The stones merge visually and look like some sort of broken wall. In any case, a single stone would convey the intention more effectively.
