===== From maarten_hofman@hotmail.com: Wonderful grass and stone. The sky seems to have some issues, but this might also be caused by the JPG encoding (maybe a smaller picture might have solved that). The look of the surroundings is a bit smooth if it is to represent Scotland. ===== From cherii@att.net: This is really nice. The grass is super and the stone came out great, with the lighting bringing out all of its qualities. Although this stone stands alone, it has a spiritual quality that doesn't make me feel particularly lonely. Well done! ===== From darwallace@earthlink.net: Add fog and a semi-transparent bozo to make it look like a rainstorm just went through. ===== From : The grass here is very impressive. But the sky could do with some more work. BTW, is this rock supposed to be a bright orange? ===== From dapigg2000@yahoo.com: Reminds me of "The Piper"... another lonely rock in the ground. Maybe we should get the two together... ===== From cfusner@enter.net: This is the best variation on procedural grass macros I've seen yet. The variance in the colors and blade lengths is a key improvement. This is what is missing from most raytraced grass we see. It's a subtle touch that gives it a much more natural look. ===== From daffy-duck@worldnet.att.net: Nice grass. ===== From suso@suso.org: One thing I really like about this image is it effectively conveys the way the sun can shine on concrete and rocks after a storm has passed. It has that orangish glow. Great job on the grass. This looks like a photograph. The clouds could use a little more work though. ===== From rclee@oklahoma.net: Nice texture on the rock and good lighting. ===== From glenn@mccarters.net: Very good attention to detail in a deceptively simple scene. I really = like the way the top of the rock contrasts defiantly with the foreboding = sky. It's lifelike, yet bigger-than-life. Each element has clearly = been tweaked to eke out maximum realism. High artistic and technical = merit. ===== From scandia3815@yahoo.com: The grass is very well done, and the overall composition works nicely- I really like the stone texture. One of my favorites this round. ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: Nice rock (seriously, nicely done, good realism with the cracks and such). Good grass too! The image is rather tall for my taste, I had to pan to see it on my 1280x1024 screen. ===== From p_chan@shaw.ca: The level of detail for the grass and the rock are excellent, but the sky is somewhat lacking in comparison to the foreground of the image. I find that the colours for the storm cloud are still a bit too uniform (i.e. not enough difference between the colours used). ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: The rock looks good, and the grass is very nice. The sharp banding of the sky bothers me, though, and doesn't seem to mesh well with the reality of the rest of the scene. ===== From jl@artcom-gmbh.de: Stone and grass look very good, as does the sky. ===== From clem@dhol.org: Being "a" stone rather than "the" stone dilutes the idea. I don't like the twotone sky. ===== From r@131.san-francisco-13-14rs.ca.dial-access.att.net: Notable for lighting, composition, textures
