===== From tek@evilsuperbrain.com: This image looks great. I find it hard to believe this is your first proper image, it looks really good. ===== From henry@unforgettable.com: a very nice image indeed, i think you got across the message you were trying to make. just one point: the light coming through the window does not appear to be the colour of the stained glass itself. maybe it would have been worth using a material map...? ===== From maarten_hofman@hotmail.com: I'm not sure I like the twist to the theme given here: in this case reading the text made the image less effective. ===== From cherii@att.net: I think this is outstanding, especially for a first try. The lighting and mood are exceptional, and I think you have really captured the feeling of lonliness. Can't wait to see what you come up with next. :) ===== From ojamies@cs.helsinki.fi: Could it be overlapping surfaces? ===== From darwallace@earthlink.net: You are skirting around, and deliberately dodging, the penultimate emptiness. Have two altars, one at each edge of the huge bay window. Place your illuminated girl on the left (God's right hand) and have a rich person in shadow on the right. ===== From beighton155@yahoo.com: Nice concept of size ===== From novotek@web.de: very good illumination and feeling. ===== From jpgargoyle@sapo.pt: The small size of the girl related to the church emphasizes the feeling of loneliness. Nice entry. Best regards. ===== From p.olice@free.fr: One of the best entries of this round. I only regret that the composition be a little too..little. A better camera angle, a different position for the character would have improved the result greatly. ===== From helene.dumur@free.fr: I like your picture, very, very much ! Alone with God, what a good idea, an original idea, your scene is amazing. ===== From dapigg2000@yahoo.com: ...no comment. It wouldn't be polite. ===== From steev@hot.pl: I think, the priest is superfluous... But the image is great. ===== From wozzeck@club-internet.fr: Immediately moving picture, needing no explaination for itself (although it's nice to have) The light effect is good as for the atmospheric part, but, one could expect the light spot on the ground to have the same colour pattern as the window. ===== From tim.nikias@gmx.de: Comforting idea, well achieved with the image... ===== From suso@suso.org: Wow! If this is your first raytraced image you've ever made then I want to see your second. Keep it up. ===== From rclee@oklahoma.net: I really liked this one. The light on the left is a bit too bright. I am not too sure about the glow at the bottom left. ===== From glenn@mccarters.net: Well done. The vertical image format emphasizes the height nicely. = Good stained glass windows. The texture on the left and right columns = seems too rough. The central figure, although illuminated by a shaft of = light, seems indistinct. ===== From bill@apocalypse.org: yay, Linux! ===== From p_chan@shaw.ca: The lighting effect look very good. I find the glows around the candles too big. My recommendation for the frame would be to try a more solid colour. As for the bright spots, I'm not sure what is causing them, but my guess is that it's either the result of they way you did the CSG to cut out the windows (try moving the texture and finish so that they apply to the whole differrence statement, rather than just the first object), or that it's a glitch in the isosurface object used. Hope that helps. ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: This is nice, especially considering the experience level. Very effective use of light and color. I wonder if the media could be tweaked a bit to make it stand out a little more in the lower portion of the scene. ===== From jl@artcom-gmbh.de: The staned glass windows look a bit distorted, otherwise nice modeling and lighting. ===== From clem@dhol.org: Misses the point, for me. ===== From r@131.san-francisco-13-14rs.ca.dial-access.att.net: Notable for composition, lighting, textures ===== From file: Notable for composition, lighting, textures
