The colors look very good. For some reason, the scene looks miniature to me,
however. This scene needs a little more work on shape. Some small plants in
other parts of the scene or a small spring might make the tree look less out of

This is fantastic.  I generally try for photorealism in my 
renderings, and I can understand the effort that went 
into this.  The rocks are top notch, and the lighting is 
soft and diffuse.  My only suggestion would be to add 
more detail of one sort or another to the sand dune.. 
some waves/patterns of moving sand perhaps.

I'll have to take your word for it regarding the shape of the rocks, but they
and the overall color of the rock and ground look a bit too regular and over
saturated. Of course sand dunes are supposed to regular, but I would expect
more variation in the rock.

The texture and shape of the larger rocks look quite 
realistic.  Some of the smaller rocks looks somewhat 
artificial.  The ground also seems too hard/solid for 
there to be grass and trees growing out of it.  I'm not 
sure how you would be able to give the ground a softer 
feel, but I think part of what gives the idea of solid rock 
is how the large rocks sit on the ground.
