===== From rgow@lanset.com: A good idea. Not enough detail in the foreground, and the planet on the left seems too shiny. Good 1st entry. ===== From shay@simcoparts.com: There is a lot here to look for and find. The heigh field is very unique and definitely has an alien feel to it. I know the render time is Hell, but this picture is too small. I changed my screen resolution to 640x480 and the picture had a lot more effect when it filled the screen. I'd say this one needs to be big. ===== From chris@ugan.com: Nice depth cues in this image, I wish I could see the station a little better and you textures could use some work. ===== From batronyx@alliancecable.net: Not bad at all for a first serious attempt. When you finish it, make it larger and reduce the 'pointiness' of the ground. Depending on your artistic intentions, you might want to elimnate the focal blur as well. As is, the scene looks like a miniature stage for an old Godzilla movie. Your lighting contributes to this by looking 'indoorsy' somehow, but they are neat effects if that is what you want. ===== From charliemc@prodigy.net: good job. ===== From martin@simaltech.com: Cool idea! ===== From chris_hormann@gmx.de: For being well suited for the topic the image should focus more on the landscape aspect. ===== From clem@dhol.org: Got carried away on the story. Not what I would consider a very inspiring landscape. ===== From p_chan@shaw.ca: The rock texture looks fairly good, although it is a bit monotonous. The use of focal blur in the image works well, with part of a ship just visible in the foreground. One possible improvement for the scene would be to add some kind of visible effect for the engines on the ships. ===== From glenn@mccarters.net: Hmmm, too much image description text compared with the level of detail = in the actual image. Maybe the detail is there, but too far away from = the camera to be visible. I would suggest moving the camera up and/or = zooming in on the action. I'm glad you entered the competition = nonetheless. ===== From hgregory3a@aol.com: nice concept, foreground height field needed more work, nice concept.
