===== From rgow@lanset.com: Nice sky and the crystals look good. ===== From shay@simcoparts.com: Very nice alien feel and beautiful sky. I like the way the sand appears to have settled naturally around the stones. I would lose the crystal in the foreground, but that's just me. I think that it takes more from the overall quality of the image than it gives to clarity. With only very small crystals, the viewer is left to ponder things like possible modes of transformation for the crystals. Mental domination of crustaceans is an idea which immediately comes to my mind. This image has just enough color to give it a fantasy/sci-fi look without taking too much from the realism. ===== From jguthkelch@netscape.net: In general I love this. I agree whole heartedly with your comments about the media. They make the picture. ===== From batronyx@alliancecable.net: I too like the way your dust storm turned out. ===== From charliemc@prodigy.net: terrific job, i love it. i respect the fact that ur refraining from using outside tools and being pure pov and all; but one of the things that makes pov so great is that you have next to know restrictions as to what you put into your scene. this is really no that true of many programs geared to just making landscapes. ===== From Sardook@telocity.com: It took me a few seconds to link the crystal in the forground to the glowing spots furhter back. I think having a small cluster closer to the viewer would make it a bit better, or are the suncatchers a solitary "creature"? ===== From chris_hormann@gmx.de: Looks good, especially the sandstorm. The rocks could probably be improved, more detailed geometry and better structure on the shadowed areas. ===== From clem@dhol.org: Pretty, but the random story detracts. This is really veryh borderline between "landscape" and "off topic random sci fi". Good use of media. ===== From p_chan@shaw.ca: The atmospheric effects are excellent! I like the way the dust turned out as well - it gives the sense of an approaching storm. The mountains look fine as silhouettes, so my advice would be to get rid of the illuminated bit in the lower left of the image. The other thing this image could use is softer shadows, which would fit in better with the dustiness of the atmosphere. ===== From hgregory3a@aol.com: your upside down dust pattern makes for great distant rain fall. neat effect.
