===== From tek@evilsuperbrain.com: This image has a really good feel to it. The lighting looks a little artificial but the greens it brings out work really well with the whole scene. The grassy hill is really nice too. ===== From rgow@lanset.com: Good idea, and good job on the lightning bolt. Seems a bit dark for a lightning strike though. ===== From the_dark_allies@hotmail.com: Nice looking tree. Lighting looks good on the lightening. (No pun intended?). P.S. How long would you think those rocks could sit at that angle counting environment erosion? :P ===== From sammyf@wanadoo.fr: sorry to tell you this, but when I first saw the picture and hadn't looked the text file yet, I thought there was some guy urinating in the tree :\ Less sparks might have worked better I guess . ===== From N6re@mminternet.com: Brightness from the flash is greater than the sun! ===== From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de: Quite nice image. The "sparks" actually look a lot more like drops, like the tree was leaking water. Real sparks have some characteristics that make them identifiable as such: - they emit light themselves - the fly away in all directions - they only emit light for a short period of time, after which they are almost invisible (or, in fact non-existent). - they very light-weight, and consequently blown away by the wind very easily, and influenced heavily by drag even from standing air In essence, sparks do never follow parabolic trajectories, except in a vacuum. ===== From david.madore@ens.fr: Nice image, and rather impressive, but the sparks look fake. ===== From dick@buckosoft.com: I love the lighting. But the "sparks" of the lightning strike on the tree look like the tree is peeing to me. I was wondering at first why there was water coming out of the tree. ===== From clem@dhol.org: The grass and tree are good. The lightning is ok. The rocks are too regular. The "sparks" look more like some sort of waterfall. ===== From p_chan@shaw.ca: The lightening bolt looks very good. I would have prefered a flash, and more luminous looking sparks. ===== From batronyx@alliancecable.net: Nifty effects. ===== From jfempire@yahoo.co.uk: Great work...Night lighting could be tweaked ===== From slone@hiwaay.net: Nice tree and lightning. The background images are a bit fuzzy. I think of lightning as being thicker close up (near the tree), but it still looks good. The sparks pour off mostly in one direction and I wish I could see the strike point better, though the silouette is dramatic. The bark looks a little furry on the trunk. ===== From r@jerkweed.kiva.net: I think the sparks need to be a lot brighter, red or whiter. It looks like sap leaking out of the tree.
