===== From tek@evilsuperbrain.com: The overall look of this image is really good. The angles on the branches looks unnatural, but otherwise this is a really good image. ===== From rgow@lanset.com: Nice image. I like the colors & textures. Not quite sure what the "moment" is. ===== From jguthkelch@netscape.net: The perspectives are all mixed up making the image look like a 2D collage and I'm sure that wasn't your intention. The lighting is likewise confused. A little more care and possibly a few more test renderings and you would have a creditable image. ===== From ggargett@attbi.com: Where's the frozen moment? And what's the deal with the rat? ===== From the_dark_allies@hotmail.com: Some nice textures in here. The brick one looks like it has some artifacts in it though. BTW, try to make plants more curved looking instead of polygonal. Also you may want to tweak the ends on the butterfly, it is looking more like a card-board cut-out. ===== From N6re@mminternet.com: Fine artistic effort with a bonsai tree placed in a fine garden setting...frozen moment is soft and silky....Great colors and arrangement. Why the animal? Original idea... ===== From jonathan@scudder.no: Interesting look - no feelin of perspective at all. In fact, it almost looks as though the background items are images rather than that the scene was rendered as a whole. Strange lack of shadows on everything but the tree, too... Still, benefit of the doubt :-) Where does the rat come into the idea, by the way? Seems like an afterthought rather than a natural part of the scene. ===== From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de: The looks very unnatural in its form. I cannot make out the scale of things. A bonsai and a picture frame? A shrunk woman sitting there? Also the tiling pattern of the floor is a very coarse and badly compressed JPEG image, and it shows. ===== From david.madore@ens.fr: Great image! The artistic side is great, and the "Zen" atmosphere is wonderful. The title is also a (French) literary reference. ===== From clem@dhol.org: Pretty picture. The butterfly isn't really kinetic enough to carry the theme well. The picture really seems to be about the bonsai. Why were they so popular this round? ===== From p_chan@shaw.ca: The tree looks very good, but there is some "blockiness" to it in that the branches don't seem to bend smoothly. The tiles/bricks for the ground are done well. ===== From batronyx@alliancecable.net: There aren't enough shadows. Things ( especially the rat) look like they were pasted in in a paint program. ===== From slone@hiwaay.net: Very sharp details, though the stone walk texture looks a little blurred, in sharp contrast to the rest of the image. The butterfly has some edges that are a lighter color than I_d expect. Some shadows are missing, leaving several objects floating over the ground. Very nice texture and finish on the blue vase. The bends in the tree are a little sharp but the texture is excellent. I like what I can see of the painting and would like to see the original.
