I'd better get a towel and some start hot tea! What in all of Zarquon's left hind pocket was he thinking!?!? DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Background is Terragen with surf done with Waterworks plug-in, foreground is POV. Some of the entries in the last round convinced me to take another look at Terragen, but it still doesn't let you import models so its rather limited in functionality. It does GREAT skies though! While you can export the terrains it creates, you can't export it's nice textures, so I was left rendering the landscape in Terragen & using it as a background. I spent most of my time with both POV & Terragen open, trying to match camera angles and lighting. About 25 terragen renders later I finally figured out to set the gamma the same on both, then it all finally clicked & I got this background. Quite satisfied with the way it looks. Using it in POV was more complicated, I had to go back into Terragen and render a view from the left to make a "sideground?" to get the reflection in the window, and also to provide the proper colors for the radiosity. The castle is all CSG with boxes & prisms. The stonewall texture is a upgraded version of the one I used in my "loneliness" round entry. The hardest part was getting the color of the railing to match the stones. Swandiver done in Poser, converted with Poseray. Textures are my own.
