===== From rgow@lanset.com: Whoa, serious contender here! Great job! You're right, some of your previous scenes the lighting is a little flat, but this one is quite good and it add a lot of depth. Well worth the time spent. The tops of the spires just look stuck-on though, they need some kind of cornice. ===== From maarten_hofman@hotmail.com: The lighting is indeed quite good, and there are many details. However, the texture feels a little clean (and sand castle like) and it's a pity that the picture is so big that I can't see all of it at the same time (my screen is set to 1280x1024). Nonetheless, a worthy entry. ===== From marlo.steed@uleth.ca: This is a stunning image. The detail in the modeling works well to make this a striking image. The texture on the towers don't seem to match the look and feel of the rest of the model. The grass seems a bit large relative to the size of the building. ===== From hildurka@simnet.is: I like it. Great modelling, good textures. Lots of interesting details. The light looks good but I have some problems with the color of the sky compared to the rest of the scene. The trees are a little out of proportions, but you probably already know that. I think that this scene would look very realistic if you placed the camera closer to the ground, this is a huge building and usually we see huge buildings from the ground and up. As it is, it looks like taken from a tower or a helicopter, which makes the church look more like a model than a actual building. Still, I can see you put a lot of work in this and I like the building. You should try to move the light AND the camera around to try out different angles. ===== From jjaguar@worldnet.att.net: To improve your sky, you may want to look into the "stacked planes" method of making clouds. They're fairly quick and easy, and look pretty good. ===== From chris_hormann@gmx.de: Impressive modelling work. The grass and the stone surfaces of the building are a bit too uniform IMO. ===== From p_chan@shaw.ca: Excellent level of detail and realism. Although the sky doesn't look too bad, it does clash with the rest of the scene as it is the only part that obviously lacks a realistic feel. One other thing that I feel you need to randomize (though most people probably wouldn't notice) is the texture of the spires (cone-like thingies at the top of the pillars). ===== From intertek@one.net: It seems a bit like a doll house. You should move the camera down to = human eye level and give it some atmosphere maybe some focal blur would = help. A big part of its grandeur is its size.
