===== From rgow@lanset.com: Much better than your 1st entry! I like the bronze plaque against the monochrome scene. The media is puzzling though... where is the light coming from? It looks like it could be a UFO scene. ===== From maarten_hofman@hotmail.com: Good concept and nicely detailed implementation, I like the idea of a python script doing an additional layer of parsing. Unfortunately the image was too big for my screen, it is probably wise to limit the vertical size to 1024 pixels or so, few people have anything bigger (though it is technically possible). ===== From tek@evilsuperbrain.com: The lighthouse looks too grey, anything that old should have dirt and moss lending a little more variation to the colour. Also the plaque seems to unbalance the image, so we don't get the impression of this being part of the world and it more seems like we just have a few objects in space, if we could see a little ground or a distant horizon this could really help add some depth to the scene. The brickwork is very impressive, though should the bricks really be as long as that? it looks like each brick is the same thickness as the wall, rather than there being several layers of bricks. The hole in the side where we can see the framework is really nice, and adds a kind of drama to the scene 'cause it looks like it might fall down. And the lighting is really nice. ===== From marlo.steed@uleth.ca: Nice concept. The modeling was impressive but it needed of age to it (the edges were just too clean. I was sure what to make of the lighting (not sure wether I like it or not) and not sure where it is coming from. What would be the source (it seems to be coming form above the lighthouse)? I can tell some light is coming from below but then it looks brighter above the lighthouse - maybe that was just an anomoly. ===== From hildurka@simnet.is: The ruined tower and the media lights really look good, but I don_t like the tablet with the text, It seemes far too big in comparison to the rest and not really a part of the scene. Good work on placing the bricks. ===== From fergie_2002_@msn.com: isnt the word testament??? just a tidbit for u ===== From chris_hormann@gmx.de: Well modelled but i think it would have gained much if the lower part of the tower would be better lit. ===== From p_chan@shaw.ca: Lighting/media effect looks excellent. Using individual bricks helps make the scene more realistic, as the effect is probably better than could be achieved using a texture. One thing I find somewhat awkward is how the stars fade out when not in the spotlights - I would expect them to be more visible where there wasn't as much light. Just a note on the use of SDL for the bricks - you probably could have stuck to the SDL as it does have file i/o. I've never used this myself, but I know it exists.
