TITLE: The Loft COUNTRY: Bahrain WEBPAGE: - RENDERER USED: AccuRender 3.1 TOOLS USED: AutoCad 2002 RENDER TIME: 41 Minutes HARDWARE USED: Pentium 4 1.4GHz, 1 Gb RAM IMAGE DESCRIPTION: I was fascinated by the thought of the inside of a dormer roof overlooking a city by the sea. In here, I've tried to create a warm interior which contrasts with the cooler imagery outside. In this process, I've tried to create an environment which is essentially me - books, wine, plants, comfy lighting etc. I decided against doing a daytime scene because I felt in this case, a more intimate scene was possible more, via artifical lighting on an early evening. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Most initial construction was solids. Most were (walls, ceilings) later meshed to speed up rendering and removing unwanted faces. Also a lot of simple 3D faces have been used. The books and labels on the vine bottles are actual digicam pics applied as decals on the respective objects. The view outside is an actual city skyline on this beautiful island nation from another of its smaller island. All lighting is real-space lighting which contains point lights, recessed ones and spotlights. The plants are completly generated by the AccuRender engine, no RPCs were used. Sofas and the horse/candles on the shelf were created by Jeff Lahna (www.abscissa.net) The more prominent textures (grey walls & floor) were created by me via digicam. Overall, its basically a collection of simple modelling which I tried to put together to (try to) create a complex looking scene.
