TITLE: This is not a shark NAME: Thomas de Groot COUNTRY: Netherlands EMAIL: t.degroot @inter.nl.net WEBPAGE: none TOPIC: Surrealism COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. JPGFILE: tdg_shar.jpg ZIPFILE: tdg_shar.zip RENDERER USED: POV-Ray 3.5 TOOLS USED: Moray 3.5-RC2 RENDER TIME: 4 hours 22 minutes HARDWARE USED: Compaq Presario 7000T- Pentium III IMAGE DESCRIPTION: The title refers to Ren_ Magritte's famous painting "Ceci n'est pas une pipe". Just think a little, and you will realise the deep truth of these words! The landscape bears resemblance to the landscapes of Yves Tanguy. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The scene was entirely composed in Moray 3.5-RC2. The isosurface plugin created the landscape; the InsertCode plugin allowed for the insertion of typical POV code: the Fastsky include by Rune S. Johansen (with some small adaptations by myself), and the Hair macro by Chris Colefax. The hairy pods/algae were made in sPatch some years ago, and converted to pcm format by the Mesh Compressor utility of Chris Colefax before being able to grow hair. The shark appears originally as a 3Ds file in Taschen's 500 3D Objects Volume 1. It was converted to a mesh/udo file and imported in Moray.
