TITLE: Ground to the Bones NAME: Rajesh Ramakrishnan COUNTRY: USA EMAIL: god@rajram.com WEBPAGE: http://images.rajram.com/ TOPIC: Decay COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. JPGFILE: rr_bones.jpg RENDERER USED: 3ds max 5 TOOLS USED: mspaint, Digital Camera, Photoshop (for texture maps and scaling down image) RENDER TIME: 44 seconds @ 1024 x 768 HARDWARE USED: Pentium 4 - 2.0 GHz DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Skeletons were produced from 3ds max from scratch, using spline extrusions and revolutions. The human skeleton images can be found in medical articles and books. The right building's textures were originally pictures of rusty metal surfaces, touched up in Photoshop to re-enforce the rust. The upper left building's textures came from a building I found in my local town. It uses UVW maps, meshes, and extrusions (as well as a front and side image of the shop). The copper-colored texture was a rust texture made from photoshop and from a still image. A model cart, with wheels and chassis, was taken apart and its pieces were strewn around the scene.
