JPGFILE: mtstone.jpg ZIPFILE: mtstone.zip RENDERER USED: povray 3.5 TOOLS USED: GNU Emacs, ruler, pencil & paper. CJPEG for converting PPM-JPG RENDER TIME: 1255 seconds HARDWARE USED: Developed on an Athlon XP 3300+, final image on a P4 2.8GHz IMAGE DESCRIPTION: A cloudy day at Stonehenge. The stones used here are smooth, regular versions of the real things; sort of what might have been had they used laser-guided numerical drills to make it. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: I've never been able to find precise measurments/description of how the stones are laid out. I used text and sketches in some books I got from the Gift Shop when I visited there years ago, but the images in the books are not orthographic.. FYI, the large image was created with Radiosity turned on; the small image in the ZIP was created with it turned off. The (sole) source file is contained in the ZIP; feel free to use it for any project you wish, but if you do, please drop me a line (see the source for my email address).
