===== From skipt1@aol.com: The concept of this image is almost a stretch of the topic, but its so well executed that it makes a great addition to the round. Definitely unique. As mentioned in your description, the lighting could be improved. Some radiosity would have done wonders for this scene. ===== From tek@evilsuperbrain.com: I don't really understand the metaphor here, how is censorship like a desert? Anyway, it's a very striking image, I definitely like the concept (even if I don't understand it!). You've done fairly well at blending interior and exterior scenes (this is very hard to do even in the real world due to the difference in brightness), though it could do with radiosity since the shadows look very flat. Also the heightfield you've used for the desert has visible steps in it which can be avoided by tweaking a few settings. ===== From rgow@lanset.com: An interesting take on the topic, but the image does not convey the concept very well. ===== From cox@gmx.at: Not bad at all, but you could have done more texture work. The texture of the dune in the front left for example looks a little checkered. The shelfs and the door seem to made of plastic. With better textures it would look really nice! ===== From ewaninthailand@yahoo.co.uk: Good work with your modelling, particularly the security camera and 'wheeled' chair in the doorway. Also like your 'broken' edge to the building. Do a lot more experimenting with your lighting. Try investigating fade_distance for instance. ===== From i-mcnamara@cornellcollege.edu: Censorship of anything, especially music, really does get to me... Now that you can't even say the word "drug" or "gun" on mtv... that's just not good. Anyway, I loved the idea for the picture. Simple but effective modeling for the books/shelves/etc. You might want to look into the radiosity feature for some better lighting. I've found that it works miracles. (unless you have already used it, in which case overclock more and raise those settings.) Anyway, a very good picture. Well made. ===== From enrique.sahagun@uam.es: It's a good idea. I hope you are against this situation ===== From ericf@foothill.net: First of all, I like the concept a lot. It is a good, original take on the topic. The elements are nicely balanced, but doesn't feel real, a bit cartoonish. Not that is a bad thing, if it works, in this case I don't think it does. Different textures on the various elements and I would have scored it higher. ===== From dylan_beadle@yahoo.com: Different lighting coulf have produced a more dramatic effect. ===== From raytracing@grayproductions.net: The modeling is strong, so I think you're just a little texture work shy of a great image. Definitely a good concept though. ===== From file: Well............. ===== From file: Nice idea. I'd only comment is that the room is a little "clean" considering the desert is invading.
