===== From skipt1@aol.com: Not bad for a beginner, and definitely a unique concept. Work on those textures and on the lighting. These are two of the biggest elements to all scenes. With practice will come perfection. ===== From rgow@lanset.com: Interesting interpretation & good modelling. Some additional lighting would help, as much detail is lost in shadows. ===== From ewaninthailand@yahoo.co.uk: I wouldn't bother apologising for black spots that only the most sensitive 'art-critics' would have spotted had you not mentioned them. Good show, keep experimenting and modelling. Sometimes a little more effort in the 'dull' bits, (I'm thinking of your large rock), can go a long way to improving the overall 'feel'. ===== From i-mcnamara@cornellcollege.edu: Almost reminds me of the Riftwar saga by Raymond Feist, made into a game called Betrayal at Kronder way back in the day. Some really good stuff here; good use of media (something I haven't even experimented with yet), awesome stars, nice sand, good pillars, and the plants are great for CSG. It might have been nice to see the entire section of desert, but then again having it cut off gives it a sense of continuation. Good work. ===== From ericf@foothill.net: Original take on the topic, and the image looks very good. But I would like to see more elements in the image, seems to be missing something. ===== From raytracing@grayproductions.net: Creative interpretation with dual layers of meaning. A desert in a desert? I'm sold. Nice job. ===== From darwallace@earthlink.net: Ideally the boulders would be isosurfaces with a noise function, or at least a grainier (scaled down) texture. Otherwise nice. ===== From file: Well............ Notable for modelling
