===== From skipt1@aol.com: I can tell a bit of work went into modeling this scene. Just as much work should be given to the lighting and the textures. The colors are unrealistic and hard to look at, most notably the sun. The lighting is also washed out. Nice job on the buildings ===== From tek@evilsuperbrain.com: Very strange colours, and why are there no shadows? You can get a much better sunshine effect by having very dark shadows, to show the contrast between light and dark. The modelling and use of macros are good, if you just chose different textures and better lighting this could look quite realistic. ===== From rgow@lanset.com: Good job with the horsemen, you have more patience than I with blobs. Your window macro could use some random variation on the right side, all the windows are leaning at the same angle. ===== From i-mcnamara@cornellcollege.edu: Quite a bit of modeling... a little blocky and repetitious, but still well done. This must have taken some time to make. You might want to see if you can figure out how to use isosurfaces (I'm still learning) as they would give you a smoother ground, though it would take a bit more time to render. Good work though, and keep those entries coming. ===== From jacoons@ameritech.net: The "Sun Halo" is interesting, but this image begs for more realism. The lighting is all wrong and I don't see a single shadow - it looks like the whole image relies on ambient light rather than a light source. The "Broken" doors are too regular. If the cowboys were somewhat in shadow and a little texture was added to the cowboys and the horses and the remainder of the town (excellent, by the way) were appropriately shaded and/or highlighted by the sun, the image would have been very good. ===== From ericf@foothill.net: I like the concept, I like the elements and their placement, but the detail of those elements, if they were at a higher level, would create a great picture instead of a good one. ===== From raytracing@grayproductions.net: Would like to see a little more variation. The macros make all the windows look identical, for example. ===== From darwallace@earthlink.net: The sun is too regular. ===== From file: Need light, to flat Notable for modelling ===== From file: This is well modeled, but needs a lot of attention given to the texturing and lighting.
