===== From skipt1@aol.com: I like the concept here and the scene composition highlights the concept well. Sandpaper is not a bad idea for sand but there is too much contrast in the grains here. The sand should have a softer appearance. The beetle could also benefit from some added detail. Not a bad picture though. ===== From rgow@lanset.com: The sandpaper texture came out well. The way the beetle's head joins the body doesn't look natural. ===== From i-mcnamara@cornellcollege.edu: A picture that both entertains and informs. That actually is a cool fact about those beetles. Speaking of which, that beetle is pretty well modeled. The waves of sand look good, and I like the idea of using a sandpaper texture, though I'd try to make it a bit more blended in the future. Thanks for posting this one. ===== From jacoons@ameritech.net: The sand is awesome. The background hills are pretty good, but a little more work on the "realism" of the beetle would have helped. ===== From ericf@foothill.net: Very nice texture on the sand, I like the idea of scanning sandpaper, I'll have to remember that one. The terrain is very good, I'd like to see more detail on the beetle. ===== From darwallace@earthlink.net: The beetle needs detail. ===== From file: Bug Notable for modelling, textures
