===== From skipt1@aol.com: Your normals are pretty good. However, because the table top in the foreground is at such a low angle to the camera you can tell that there is no real depth there. The rest of the scene could use a little work in terms of complexity to make it more realistic. One thing that confuses me is how this topic relates to Desert. Does it have something to do with the isolationism you mentioned in the beginning of your description? Please elaborate next time. ===== From tek@evilsuperbrain.com: Good use of focal blur and general scene layout. Also I like the concept, you've obviously put thought into the interpretation of the topic. ===== From rgow@lanset.com: Good textures! Good take on topic, I read the Little Prince years ago but I still remember the part you depict. The stones seem too clean for the surroundings. ===== From i-mcnamara@cornellcollege.edu: I'm glad you included that quote or I would have been a bit lost with this one. I must say, whatever you did with those normal maps did the trick for the most part. Also, good use of the focal blur. I still have yet to experiment with that feature. I'm guessing that you used some radiosity as well. A simple yet effective picture. Good work. ===== From jacoons@ameritech.net: I really like the background rock textures (*although* they are focal-blurred) and the foreground rocks really look good, too. I don't know what the little gadget is resting in the sand, though. ===== From ericf@foothill.net: You picked one of my favorite stories to depict, so my analysis may be suspect, but oh well. The airplane image is quite good, the focal length effect of the camera helps hide any problems that might be there. The drawing of the sheep is a nice touch, and the compass looks suffiently like an old type to me. My only question is where all the bales of hay came from. Or are they stones? Anyway, a simple but nicely done image. ===== From raytracing@grayproductions.net: How does this relate to the topic of "Desert"? Perhaps I need to read the book to find out... ;) ===== From file: Topic!!!!! Notable for modelling
