IMAGE DESCRIPTION: 

I have been living some years in Djibouti, a desertic country of East Africa.
And whenever I was coming back to France, forests, prairies and fields almost
burned my eyes.
Desert is the absence of vegetations. Desert of Kalahari, Sahara, Afar triangle,
Gobi, Atacama, Greenland, Antartic continent... virtually all these places are
without vegetations (and not without water...). Visually, what you lack in
deserts is GREEN. And for the people who live in desert, green is hope. 
There is no other signification to my picture. 
One single leave can sometimes give more hope than thousands of dollars. And
hope is often at the start of a road. 
Should I finally say that life is a trip through a desert, with some steps in
oasis ? Maybe a bit hazardous...

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: 

The landscape was done with Terragen, a mask was created to make the road.
Then I used TOMTREE to create a naked tree. 
The tree and one leaf were incorporated in the landscape using Gimp. I also put
a fog in front of the image.
