JPGFILE: apoorchi.jpg RENDERER USED: proprio di 3DS MAX TOOLS USED: 3DS MAX 5.0 RENDER TIME: ---------------- HARDWARE USED: AMD Athlon XP 1.7 IMAGE DESCRIPTION: This is the first time that I take part in this competition and I'm happy that the theme is TOYS AND GAMES. Toys are an integral part of a child's life, a necessary lymph for his or her growth, an obliged path. Everyone, whether rich or poor, has the right to play with whatever object he or she chooses, be it the latest electronic game for a rich child or a home-made train set for a poor one. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: First of all, I built the locomotive by means of OBJECTS turned into editable meshes with MODIFIERS applied to them and then converted in BOOLEAN objects (base, box with windows and wheels). Based on the size of the locomotive, I built the room (walls, skirting boards and ground). In order to make the tin, I rummaged through the cupboard and I found a tin of lentil, a quick scan (I did the same for the milk-carton) and Bob's your uncle! I applied the texture on the label. The tin has been made by applying the LATHE instrument, and the same is true for the small coffee funnel it, for the small nails supporting the wheels and for the old can in the background (the handle has been made with the LOFT instrument). In order to make the milk-carton less "stiff" I applied the NOISE instrument, but not too much. Home-made textures have also been applied to the painted metal caps used for the wheels. Finally, there are two lights, one is a yellow 0.3 OMNI light and another is a white 0.6 spot one. This won't be certainly the image of the century, but I hope that I have caught the spirit of this competition ... let's hope that someone is going to like it.
