TITLE: Punch and Judy NAME: John Gardiner COUNTRY: UK EMAIL: john@thegardiners.co.uk TOPIC: Toys and Games COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. JPGFILE: jwgpandj.jpg ZIPFILE: jwgpandj.zip RENDERER USED: POV-Ray 3.5 TOOLS USED: Poser4 to create puppet faces. PoseRay to import faces into POV-Ray. Thumbs Plus to convert image to jpg. RENDER TIME: 9m 30s HARDWARE USED: 2.66 GHz Pentium 256 MB Ram IMAGE DESCRIPTION: When I'd finished this I was in two minds whether to send it at all - I suppose it doesn't really hit the 'fun for onlookers' part of the topic but maybe it hits the 'intended to be fun...' part. Punch and Judy are colourful and funny, but also rather horrible. I can remember being a bit scared of the puppets. This is a child's-eye view. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Poser for the puppets' faces and vests, and PoseRay to export them to POV-Ray. Everything else is POV-Ray. The puppets' hats and collars are isosurfaces. The curtains are an isosurface. Punch's stick is also an isosurface (to get the stripe). The hands are blob objects. I have zipped up files with POV-Ray code in.
